COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY

Cosmetic Injectibles

Botox Cosmetic Logo  Dysport Logo

Botulinum toxins are a simple and effective treatment to soften facial lines and wrinkles that develop over time primarily on the forehead and crow’s feet. Botox and Dysport work to temporarily decrease muscle contraction and thus relax the muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles. Treatment can be performed in a matter of minutes with little to no downtime and results last for about 3-6 months.

Juvederm Logo  Restylane Logo

Dermal fillers are a safe nonsurgical option for smoothing out wrinkles, plumping the skin, and enhancing shallow contours. Products like Juvederm and Restylane are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a gel-like substance normally found in human skin.  These are commonly used in the cheeks, lips, and frown lines.

Microneedling

Eclipse MicroPen Logo

The Eclipse MicroPen is an innovative technique that uses a hand-held device studded with 12 fine micro-needles to treat lines, wrinkles, scarring, and stretch marks. The Eclipse MicroPen is glided over the surface of the skin creating tiny pricks that penetrate to the dermal layer. This creates minor injury to the skin, which then stimulates the production of collagen. The procedure takes 15-30 minutes, and there is some redness for 1-4 days after the treatment.

Laser Treatments

With the Alma Harmony Pro XL system, we have 4 lasers in one platform:

  • Dye-VL IPL
  • Q-switched Nd:Yag
  • Long-pulsed Nd:Yag
  • iPixel Erbium:Yag Ablative Laser

With this multi-functional device, we can treat numerous conditions such as redness from rosacea, freckles, sun-damage, discoloration, veins, and superficial skin growths. IPL treatments largely address red and brown pigmentation on the face that can be caused by sun-damage or rosacea with very little downtime. iPixel uses fractional ablative laser technology to resurface the skin to reverse signs of aging and UV damage. We are happy to consult with you to discuss with treatment option is best for your concerns.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a quick and easy way to improve the appearance of the skin. These treatments involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin that causes the top layer of the skin to exfoliate and eventually peel off. Chemical peels can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, discoloration, acne, and scarring.

PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma is a high concentration of a patient’s own platelets in a small volume of plasma taken from their own blood. Platelets have granules that have been found to secrete growth factors involved in cell growth, collagen production, repair of damaged blood vessels, and stimulation of hair production. PRP has been used for wound healing, repair of orthopedic injuries as well as aesthetic improvement of the skin and promotion of hair growth. Dermatology Specialists of Fort Worth is currently using PRP injections for hair restoration and in conjunction with our microneedling treatments for enhancement of facial rejuvenation.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for hair restoration

PRP uses your body’s own platelets to help thicken and stimulate hair regrowth when injected into the scalp.  The process takes about 30 minutes in which your blood is drawn and spun down to extract the platelets and then injected into the scalp.  There is minimal discomfort and virtually no downtime.  It is typically recommended to have a series of 3 treatments one month apart and then every 3-6 months thereafter.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) with microneedling

PRP can be added to a microneedling treatment to speed up wound healing and recovery time, decrease redness, and boost collagen production.  After a blood draw, platelets are extracted from the blood and applied to the skin during the microneedling procedure. The channels created during the microneedling procedure allow for the PRP to be delivered deeper down in the skin to promote collagen production and improve lines, wrinkles, scars, and overall tone and texture of the skin.
